My half-sister's three-story home, where she lived with her eight children and one grandchild, was completely destroyed by a fire.

The blaze lasted for hours and required a second alarm, bringing in firefighters from neighboring towns. Three of her daughters and her grandson died in the fire. The survivors have injuries including smoke inhalation and third-degree burns.

The house and all their possessions – clothing, photos, toys, and more – are gone.

She's focused on caring for the remaining children, who are dealing with medical needs, grief, and no stable housing. Beyond the material loss, there's the emotional impact, funerals, and ongoing recovery.
