They say when it rains it pours but we have to believe that after the storm there will be a beautiful rainbow. Our family received unfortunate news this week as my brother was diagnosed with sarcoma. This has come as a complete shock as it is incredibly rare for direct siblings to both be diagnosed with sarcoma. My brother's sarcoma is a subtype called myxoid liposarcoma and he will be under the care of the same medical team that is treating me. As a teacher, he is fortunate that he will be able to focus on treatment during the summer break. However, the financial burden of cancer treatments is one that no one wishes to experience. My brother has stood by my side throughout my entire sarcoma journey and now it is time for me to reciprocate the support. Chris and Susie have given so much back to our community and to the lives of veterans. Now it is time for us to give them support as they journey through this awful disease.
