We are a small local Petting zoo located in Berks County Pennsylvania. The zoo started in 1992 and was always free until three years ago. We started charging $1.00 a person to help with cost of maintaining and upkeep of the zoo. We do educational tours through spring and summer for alot of different children's classes and groups. Some of these children have never seen the kinds of animals that live here. Alot of our animals are rescues. We have everything from goats to lemurs. So you can imagine the cost to care for them. Not only their food but our veterinarian cost also. We always have made it on our own, but with the closing of the state we find ourselves in a bind like many other people.
