Lacey’s dad, Russel (Rusty) Channell, passed away unexpectedly a few days ago. Lacey was Rusty’s only daughter and they were incredibly close. Lacey is leaving the morning of May 4th to drive her and her mom from Colorado all the way to Maryland, where her father lived. Lacey and her mom are in the high-risk category for Covid-19, so flying is not an option. The drive non-stop is 25 hours or 1,745 miles. As you can imagine, this is a huge financial hardship for Lacey, especially after having to quit her job recently. She will be unemployed during this time (at least 2 more weeks). The goal is to raise enough money for Lacey to get her and her mom safely across the country in order to be with family, sort through her dad’s belongings, and organize a future memorial. If you’re a friend of Lacey’s, you already know how selfless she is.
