Chad was diagnosed with a brain stem meningioma tumor when he was 17 years old. This tumor was “accidentally” discovered when he was in a car accident and needed a routine MRI. The Czapor family finally found a surgeon in New York willing to do the dangerous surgery in this part of the brain. His journey has been nothing short of a miracle! He fought hard and had his ups and downs and re-visits to the hospital but finally recovered beautifully. Now, almost 12 years later, the tumor is growing again. Surgery is not an option this time but they found an amazing team at Mass General in Boston who will be treating Chad. He will be doing proton therapy radiation for 6 weeks every day and will need to relocate for this time to be near the hospital for his treatments.
