AM Spoken Word Album Project

Hi everyone, I’m Drew McNaughton and I’m a poet and musician. I am raising money for a new album which, as it is very early in the process, I’m just calling “AM” for the time being. All will be revealed eventually! I’m hoping to get more funding from other places as well but it would be good to have some initial backing to show their is a clamouring cry for a new album from me. I can tell you now that most of the poetry has already been written and it will have a strong theme of Nature and the environment. You can even read some of it on my website: drewmcnaughton.net I would like to record the poems and have accompanying music much like my first album “Kyberpoetica”. Since I made that one I have had even more reason to make audio versions of my poetry as my nephew became blind and it became more important than ever to me to have poetry which can be accessed by those with vision impairment. Also in keeping with the ethos of being caring for the environment I will just be releasing it digitally so there is no plastic involved. Everyone who donates £10 or more will then be sent a download code when it is released to have the music for themselves although it will also be available on all the major streaming platforms as well, in just the same way that “Kyberpoetica” can be heard now. That album was released in 2014 and it took me at least a couple of years to do but I hope that this one will take less time. However I’m anticipating that with funding applications to submit and recording to be done it won’t be available until 2021. Saying that, the money which you are providing now (effectively a pre-purchase) will be kept aside exclusively for this project. If I can get enough funding I hope to also involve a number of musical collaborators which will greatly enhance the whole project. Again more will be revealed in due time.
