Helping Homeless Betty

Hi Everyone, Betty needs your help. I met Betty a few days ago sleeping in front of my office. Betty is not new to the area. I have seen her many of times walking up and down Route 59 in Nanuet. I spoke to Betty for quite some time. She does not want to go into a shelter because she has had plenty of bad experiences in them and now with Covid-19 she would not even think of going to one. Betty is a sweetheart. She spoke fondly of a son that lives in Florida but he has his own issues. Another son she told me about that is homeless as well in the area but he has a very bad temper so she stays away from him at times. Betty really has no one. Her feet and legs are swollen, she told me she is always hungry and now with the virus everyone is afraid to go near her. I gave her $20 and she cried. She said she is going to save it for a motel room so she can take a shower and get a good nights sleep. Betty has been having bad dreams. She told me of one that she recently had where she was on a train and she got off and no one was around. Betty told me she wants nothing more right now then to have a hot shower and sleep. Her feet and legs are very swollen and she might if she's lucky get an hour or two of sleep at night. Otherwise during the day she takes 10-15 minute naps. Her face is very weathered and I'm sure she is younger then she looks. Betty is a sweetheart and she is smart. It is obviously she has psychological issues otherwise she wouldn't be in this situation but we are not here to judge. I'm hoping that some of you can help out and let Betty know that there are people that care. This is only a temporary solution but a bed and a hot shower shouldn't be much to ask for. Please help if you can. I know she would be so grateful. Thank you!
