Many of you probably know this special lady, my sweet aunt, Jeri Graham (Gigi). She is one of the most kind, genuine, down to earth people I know. She is always there to help in any way she can, and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is such a huge blessing in my life, and the lives of so many others! We all love and adore her and her amazing family so much. It’s easy to do because to know them, is to love them!
Aunt Jeri was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has started the chemotherapy treatments for it. It is a very aggressive stage 3 cancer, but thankfully they (hopefully) found a chemo that it responded to (after her third treatment they will do tests to make sure this is the case).
As anyone who knows her would expect, she has been so brave and selfless. Instead of complaining, she is worrying about others and thinking of everyone besides herself, even at a time like this. She has such an optimistic attitude and as always, her faith remains strong. She’s a wonderful example to me, and all those around her.
I’m really unsure of how all this works and I probably haven’t used all the correct words/terminology, but I’m certain of one thing - my aunt and her family could definitely use some help. I imagine, especially with this being so unexpected, the related expenses are scary and overwhelming, to say the least. I know this is such a hard time for everyone, but if you can spare anything at all, it would be so greatly appreciated. Literally anything helps.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you could, please remember my aunt and her family in your prayers. Here are some of the details I have regarding her treatment and the related costs.
She will have 5 months of chemo, then surgery to remove any cancer that’s left. Following that will be radiation for another 12 months. Finally, reconstruction surgery will be done. These estimated costs listed below are not covered by insurance and will need to come out of pocket:
$3,500 - treatments and reconstructive surgery
$1,200 - transportation (travel to and from Texas for doctors and treatment)
$1,580 - hotel (She can’t stay at Hope Lodge as they closed due to Covid-19.)
Total Expenses: $6,280
