John Gallo Obituary
I am writing to you today to let you know about the sudden loss of John (Jay) Gallo on 4/20/2020.
The family has not yet made viewing or funeral arrangements. We are still trying to navigate what options we have in these unprecedented times.
Many friends and family have reached out asking what they can do to help. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations. We know all of our friends and family have such kind hearts, but we do not want to accept donations from anyone who is out of work at this time. If you are currently out of work please just send your condolences. That is more than enough in these trying times. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and love for everyone who has reached out. Words can't express what it means to all of us. These funds will be used toward funeral expenses. Any extra funds will be distributed evenly among his four children whom he loved dearly. Giavanni Gallo, Julian Gallo, Gemma Gallo, and Dominic Gallo.
Jay had a personality that could light up the room. You couldn't help but smile and laugh when you were around him. To say he had charisma was an understatement. He just had a way with people. Named after his grandfather John Gallo, he was known as Lil' Man or Lil' Jay around the neighborhood when we were kids. He would go around talking to everyone and showing off his dog. The whole neighborhood knew who Lil' Jay was. You just couldn't deny his presence. Jay made friends wherever he went. He never really got the concept of "don't talk to strangers". In adulthood he was just the same. He touched the lives of so many.
His biggest passion and joy was his children. Jay was an excellent father and so proud of his kids. He loved them all very much. I know he would want us to honor his memory by helping them. That is the purpose of this fundraiser. May they carry on his legacy with the same love, compassion, and fun Jay carried throughout his life.
