I am a former first responder and I am currently in need of assistance for housing during the coronavirus pandemic. I recently moved to Saint Paul Minnesota after quitting my career and wanting to go back to school to become a social worker. I was staying with my girlfriend at the time, but our relationship has ended and I can no longer stay with her. In the middle of my relationship ending, I was also experiencing a severe mental health crisis related to my PTSD and major depression from my former career.I was being housed in a mental health crisis housing facility, but since I am no longer in crisis and the facilities only allow you to stay for 10 days maximum, that is no longer an option as well. I have been paying to stay in hotels, but due to limited funds, I can no longer afford to do so. I currently have a full-time essential job, and I have a lease signed and I am planned to move in on May 1st. The amount I am asking for is to help pay for either a hotel, or an Airbnb for the rest of the month, as well as my first and last months rent. Not really asking for much, and I would love to repay those who help however I can, as well as pay it forward with continuing to serve people by becoming a social worker. I have served the public for the past 15 years of my life, it has come at a cost to my mental health as well as my physical health, but I don't regret it. I feel that some of my greatest achievements in life so far, are some of the acts of service I was able to give people during my career as a first responder. I have documentation to prove that I was indeed a first responder, as well as the lease for my new apartment.
