Save My Parents Home

My name is Michelle Jones and I am raising money for my parents, Wendell and Kathe Jones. My parents have suffered the loss of their life savings to an employee who embezzled from them. They are now facing a foreclosure on their home.
My father is 76 and suffers from several medical mobility problems. My mother suffers from Geriatric Bipolar Disorder Syndrome and is 68. They are unable to work and rely solely on Social Security retirement benefits for support.
When my father was 60 years old, he used his life savings to start a self-storage business, which he developed into a very successful enterprise. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated. My father was under the influence of heavy pain medications and was hospitalized for several surgeries. He relied solely on his trusted office manager to handle running the business for him. His manager had the responsibility of collecting the rents, many of which were paid in cash. Unfortunately, his manager embezzled from the company to feed his addiction to casino gambling and my parents lost their business, their ability to pay their home mortgage and their nest egg.
My father tried to save the business but the damage was done. It was lost, along with my parents life savings. What really hurts is that my father had always instilled a hard work ethic in me as I grew up. He had been working since his early teenage years. It is just such a shame to know that he has been devastated after all of and Mom’s years of hard work. The stress, caused by the loss of their financial nest egg, forced my mom to be hospitalized for Bipolar Disorder five times.
I‘m 53 years old and have been physically disabled for 22 years. I receive Social Security Disability benefits and have relied on my parents for help paying my bills. In their current situation, they are no longer able to help me. It’s frustrating knowing that I am unable to financially help them. This GoFundMe campaign is one of the most meaningful things that I will ever be able to do for my parents.
My parents would like to stay in the home they love. I am raising money to enable them to hold off the foreclosure process. They need at least $170,000 and any amount raised over that amount will be used to modify the home to meet their special medical needs.
I have great friends on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. To help get the word out, please share this link with your own social networks. I want to get the maximum exposure possible in order to help my parents. Thank you all so much!
