It all started with me gifting 2 boxes and then I wondered how more can be donated.
First Face Shields of Sussex started purchasing Face Visor Assembly Kits from a company in Northern Ireland.
The only thing that was a problem was the price. It was working out at £2.50 each Face Shield to supply.
I wanted to supply more face shields with the money from Donations so I sourced materials for
the shields individually and Face Shields of Sussex are now producing our own Face Shield Assembly Kits.
How much does this work out per Face Shield now?
Now each face shield works out at 89p each. So we have more than halved the price.
This means with the money you donate we can assemble and deliver many more face shields than before.
I want to say a HUGEEEEE Thank You to everyone who has donated and also for our awesome
Dream Team Volunteer Assemblers.
Without all of you Face Shield Of Sussex could not provide this essential Personal Protective Equipment to
our frontline Medical and Care workers in East & West Sussex.
These Face Shields not only protect the wearer but also protect the patients they are caring for.
so for example
22 Face shields = £19.58
22 Medical Staff of Carers are protected
If each wearer only interacts with 10 patients - most likely will be more but for this example they only interact with 10
10x 22 = 220 patients lives are potentially saved.
220 patients lives plus the lives of the 22 Medical/Care staff equals to
220 + 22 = 242 potential lives saved - for the cost of just under £20.
Please note the numbers above are just an example to show the compound effect of the protection to staff which
impacts the protection to the patients.
These Face Shields act as much needed Armour for our Frontline Medical & Care staff.
