Hello, OUR GOAL HAS BEEN MET AS OF 04/14/2020. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared. A message from the Ramirez Family:

Hello everyone, it’s painful to have to write this and ask for help during these troubling times but Moose needs your help. Our Easter did not go as we planned, we took Moose in today to get groomed at 3:30 pm. Unfortunately, it was not with his normal groomer we’ve had for the past 10 months. We handed Moose over to another groomer, whom we’ve come to know over the months but this was her first time handling him. Seeing as he is considered an “express” appointment due to his breed we stuck around the facility as always and when it was time to pick Moose up we noticed he was shivering. We thought, it could be because he was still wet but we found it rather odd. When I asked the groomer why he may be shivering, I was told “he’s probably in shock because he was groomed by someone else.” That responses seems a bit odd but we walked out with an extremely damp and shivering Bulldog. After a 15 minute drive home, we realized something was still wrong with Moose, he was shivering violently and had become extremely lethargic. We dried him off and covered him with blankets, over the next couple hours his breathing was becoming shallow and began panting. He lost all energy to stand and struggled to keep his eyes open. We called the salon to ask if this was common, again we were told by the manager it could be a result of shock but to monitor him, if things got worse call back in the morning and they will contact their in facility hospital to see if they can “squeeze us in”. With Moose declining fast, we couldn’t wait till tomorrow. We rushed him to a hospital where he is being kept overnight. He had a 104 fever and is in an oxygen tank to help him try and breathe a little easier. The doctor explained he has swelling near the upper part of his neck / back of his throat which was causing him a lot of difficulty breathing. Many tests and xrays will be ran on Moose but this is just the start of his care. So far we’ve accrued $3108 in hospital bills and we anticipate another $1500 for his general vet visit tomorrow morning. We are asking for any help, a share, donation and most importantly prayers for our Moose and his health. Thank you all so much.
