I created Lily Pond Art Studio so that I can use it to help bring art back into our community. As has happened across the country, our local education system has had to cut the art curriculum taught in schools. Most communities offer a variety of options for the sporty child, while the creative child is over-looked. We want to offer a fun place for parents with toddlers, to provide after-school activities for artistic children, and to instruct home-schooled students during the day. Additionally, we want to offer a place for adults to have fun and let their inner artist shine!
Our first goal is to open the studio. In order to do that we need a location (for which we have a tentative lease!), we need furniture, and we need supplies! This is where you can help us help our community. If we can raise the $25,000, we will have enough for tables, easels, paints, chairs, brushes, and some canvases; anything extra will go towards rent and fees needed to start up a business. We already have all of the licensing, social media and a website, lilypondartstudio.com.
We have done polling in our area, and there is a high demand for a place like this. We feel confident that our studio will be an immediate success. My degree is in art, I volunteer at several local schools, and I used to teach seniors. I have the experience and the passion to make this dream a reality. I love being a part of our community and being able to give back through something as wonderful as teaching art!
