Jake’s College Dream of Cal Lutheran University

I am Heather Diddy, proud Mom to my son, Jake Diddy! I lost my husband, and Jake lost his father 11 years ago when Jake was 7 years old, and I was 6 weeks pregnant with my daughter Julia. While this loss painfully changed our lives, we have stayed strong as a family, persevered, found joy and made a decision to be the best we can be. We are incredibly proud of all that Jake has accomplished, in spite of our circumstances. Jake took on a job to help with the family finances and watched his sister while I worked, all while carrying on the load of his academic and athletic responsibilities. Jake’s dream is to attend California Lutheran University in Southern California and plans on being a Business major with a minor in Art, as well as contributing to the NCAA Division III men’s volleyball team. Due to his hard work, Jake was offered a scholarship and grant money which is greatly appreciated. We also applied and was awarded a Cal and Federal Grant (FAFSA). Unfortunately, it is still not enough for us to afford for Jake to go to California Lutheran University. I am reaching out to ask for your help in making my son’s DREAM come true!
