One year old kitty, Cheeze It, needs emergency vet care!

On 7/7/25 after being missing for a little over 24 hours we found our 1 year old orange tabby cat, Cheeze It, in very rough shape. He was lethargic, cold, and shaky. I noticed some dried blood on the tip of his penis and I knew immediately something was very wrong and suspected he had a blockage. I rushed him to the veterinarian and the news was dire. His body was shutting down quickly and he needed surgery immediately to flush the obstruction and get him some relief. The vet quoted us $1,200 to potentially save his life with an additional $1,000 at the overnight “emergency” vet. We made the very hard decision to fight to keep him alive. He is the youngest of our kitties and he is deeply bonded to our 5 year old who is autistic. Currently it is 10pm on 7/7/25 and Cheeze It is at the emergency vet getting much needed IV fluids, pain management, and he has catheter.

My family of five lives on one person’s income. My husband works two jobs and I am a stay at home mom to our 3 kids, two of which are on the spectrum. Living on one income means things are extremely tight. We drained all of the savings we had put back to pay towards the bill and we are trying to raise the funds to help offset the expense.

If you have extra funds and are able to donate to help us cover the cost of these unexpected bills we would be incredibly grateful. The vet told us that she was unsure at this point how many days he would have to be in the hospital so it’s possible that the $2200 estimate may go up. And also that he may have permanent kidney damage but it’s too soon to tell.
