The San Mateo Zoo COVID-19 #SmallBusinessRelief

Due the recent Shelter in Place order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are closing The San Mateo Zoo until further notice. We’re a small business that houses independent contractors and when we can’t provide our services, we don’t get paid. That is an inherent risk of being self-employed. This global pandemic is something none of us saw coming and unfortunately isn’t covered by insurance. Yet here we are, all trying our best to stay positive, to support our families and to support our community by doing what is being asked and by doing what is right: staying home and by doing so, keeping others safe. The barbershop is more than just a place to get your haircut. It’s a community, a respite for so many, a place where people come to feel good about themselves and to connect with each other. We don’t want to lose this special place. In order to ensure we have a place to provide services when the shelter in place is lifted, we are asking for your help. All funds raised will go towards paying the shop bills that will not be met due to our inability to work for you, our customers. This is a challenging time for us all. The community’s health and safety is our highest priority. We thank you for even the smallest donation and we look forward to serving you, hopefully sooner than later. In the meantime, take care of yourself and each other.
