We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our beloved friend and colleague, Amit Jain, who succumbed to a massive heart attack at work in the middle of a critical project, which was aimed at creating an offshore delivery center for 'Work from Home' in the wake of COVID- 19 outbreak. He is remembered for his kindness, compassion for the community, and he was always ready to help friends and people around him who needed support and guidance.
I had personally known him for 30 years, and last met him in June 2019, besides talking about our silly stories and few warm funny trips down memory lane, he fondly talked about his dream of sending his son, Arnav, to study at a North American University. I also came out with the feeling that he had the same fears so many of us have at this crucial juncture of life called middle life - everlasting demands of jobs, instability of IT career, a growing burden of financial liabilities (payment of mortgages, getting kids to esteemed colleges, and funding ever-rising costs of college education).
With the primary, sole earner of the family so abruptly snatched away, a bright career cut short by more than a decade, and a young grieving family left behind to fend for themselves, we want to ensure Amit's dream is not cut short. Amit may not be with us, but we want his dream to live. Arnav got accepted at University of Toronto for fall of 2020, but now the family alone may not be able to sponsor the education. There is no filling of the emotional void he had left behind, but there is certainly a possibility that Amit's close friends, and close friend's friends, together raise enough money for Arnav's 1st year's college fees, that's the least we can do for a person who always stood tall and strong for his community.
THANKS ! for joining this effort of materializing a loved friend's, a father's dream to get his kid's education from an esteemed North American University, it would mean the world to the family.
