Covid Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Friends,
I am a small business owner on Navy Pier and live in Rogers Park, I go around Chicago and take photographs of everyday objects that look like letters, e.i. Ferris Wheel as an “O”, and with those letters you pick and arrange them to spell anything you want, I then mat and frame them.
Last week Monday the 16th of March, we were told to close for 2.5 weeks due to the Covid-19 outbreak, at the time it was something that I could weather financially, however very recently we were told that date was pushed up to the end of April (for now) and that is something I’m not sure that I can survive, and I’m scared I might have to close my shop, and lose my livelihood.
I know times are tough for everyone, and so many are without work right now. So honestly anything truly helps.
My goal is $2,500, and if I receive over that amount I will be donating it to the 49th Ward of Chicago so that they may distribute it to other small businesses or individuals that need it.
I’m also looking for advice on, any grants that might be out there, or any other advice you can give in the meantime to work through this awful time.
