The governor of California has shut down our salon in the hopes that closing all non-essential businesses will slow the transmission of the coronavirus. As independent lash artists, we are not eligible for unemployment and it looks like independent contractors (like us) are not being considered in any legislation floating around.
Falling through the cracks is not fun, and if it were up to us, we would just keep working. After all, we know a thing or two about staying safe, sterile and clean. Also, we have heard from many of you who would love to sneak in and get a touch-up . Believe us, we want to get back to work too, but at this crucial moment, we are trying to do our best to stop the spread of this disease and to stop our hospitals from filling up, crippling all of our access to health care.
As for what the future holds, we will be weighing our options in the coming weeks, and we are excited to get back to work as soon as we think it's feasible. But until then, we need your help! If you have not been affected financially by this quarantine, we ask that you consider sending us a donation. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. 100% of funds will go to Wink Lash Studio lash artists.
