On March 15, 2020, Governor Charlie Baker mandated that all bars and restaurants close down to inside patrons until at least April 6th in all of Massachusetts. The management team at Amherst Coffee has made the tough decision to close their doors indefinitely to protect the health and safety of the community. It goes without saying that the wonderful friends and family at Amherst Coffee will be effected directly by this closing. Most employees rely on the tips earned as well as their regular pay, both of which have been forced to a halt.
Since its opening, AmCo has been an integral part of the neighborhood - for residents, visiting tourists, students, etc. Chances are, you know someone who has a tie to AmCo - whether it's someone who works there, someone who likes to occasionally stop by for a drink, or your friend from class that always Instagrams a picture of their beautiful latte art or craft cocktail every time they come in. The staff at AmCo is a welcoming bunch, with a deep devotion to serving the Amherst community with the best experiences possible.
This money will be used directly and specifically to support the staff at Amherst Coffee during these times of financial uncertainty. If you have the means, please consider donating.
