My family needs a new car that's newer and safe

Unfortunately, I've been plagued with getting older cars that have all kinds of problems that prove to be potentially unsafe for my family, especially my two year old son. Due to the pandemic, we're not receiving ideal money coming in the afford monthly payments for a newer car we use any money we get towards our rent. Preferably a sedan that's 2015 or newer. We need a vehicle so we can run errands and go to work and just to make our lives a great deal easier. The bigger the down payment the easier it'll be to make payments. I know I put 3000 but it doesn't have to be that, that's just ideal but we would be very grateful to anyone that could assist us.
