In February of 2020, Drew and Alayna Johnson received news that would change their lives forever. Drew ( 33years old) began having shortness of breath. What started out as seemingly simple pneumonia was later diagnosed as heart failure and his heart was only pumping at 19%. Drew has five young children, the youngest being only 8 months old. Drew was placed on the heart transplant list. Unfortunately, he would likely not survive until a transplant, so doctors performed open heart surgery to implant a pump to do the work that his heart was not able to do. Unfortunately, they have no health insurance as Drew lost his job last fall. This procedure and pending future procedures have left Drew in a physical state where he is unable to work and provide for his family. His wife, Alayna, is his sole caregiver and had to temporarily discontinue her work as a hairdresser until other arrangements can be made to care for Drew. As you can imagine, the financial strain and stress of this illness is overwhelming. The couple is grateful for the power of prayer and the grace of God that has sustained them thus far and asks for your continued prayers.
