Hi, friends, family and other loved ones of Patti Tims. Patti needs our help. Her health has taken a hit, and she and her family would like to get her to Florida, where a cousin and her wife live. The only way to get her there is air ambulance or with a flight medic - quite expensive options. Anything you can give to help with this would be much appreciated.
Here’s Patti’s health situation, in her own words: “My health started to falter a few months ago, and it turns out that advanced ovarian/ovary-adjacent cancer is involved. ... I don't think I'm strong enough to withstand any conventional treatment, and I think natural/alternative methods will take too long or require a support system that I don't have. ... Many loose ends in my personal life have me feeling overwhelmed. .. I tire very easily. I'm in a care facility in Evanston after time in the hospital. Don't feel bad if you didn't know. I was trying to figure things out before I shared. ... I welcome prayers and loving vibes. if you want to be in touch, please use email or snail mail. ... I didn't mean to be out of touch for so long. This has caught me by surprise.”
Patti, a career copy editor, has friends near and far from her long career in newspapers. She was known for setting up her cheery and much-beloved “News Village” of newspaper buildings, newsboys and newsstands in each place she worked, including the Detroit Free Press, The Indianapolis Star, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Virginian-Pilot, Chicago Tribune and Tribune Publishing. Now, we can be “Patti’s Village” - let’s come together and help her when she needs it. Anything you can contribute or any way you can share this site would be wonderful.
