I sincerely hope this is the last time we ever have to ask for help covering the funeral costs of a family member. None of us like to ask for help. But the bottom line is that our dad didn't have life insurance or any assets that would help. He wanted to get life insurance after we lost our mom and James, but his health deteriorated so quickly that it just didn't happen. Also, we totally understand if anyone decides that this is not something they can do...

Having said that, please know that we are beyond grateful for any help we can receive towards our dad's funeral costs. I think it's fair to say that losing three immediate family members in just over a year is overwhelming. And not being in a position to pay for the funeral costs is very difficult. It is for that reason that I am reaching out for (God willing!) the last time to our friends and family.

If you know my siblings and me, you know that we didn't have a lot materially growing up. But what we lacked financially we definitely were compensated for with the most loving and supportive parents anyone could ever ask for. Our mom was the definition of selflessness and devotion to her family. Our dad may not have been able to help us financially as often as he would have liked, but if he could fix it or build it, he definitely did so! And our brother James had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew. We miss them all so much and we know that anyone who knew them was blessed.
