On the 21st of March I will be embarking on the Indian Pacific Wheel Ride, covering 5,500km from Fremantle to Sydney by Bicycle unsupported. Along with the personal challenge, I will be doing this ride to raise funds to help build a new Chemotherapy Unit for the University Hospital in Tralee, Ireland. The unit where Dad is currently being treated does not have sufficent capacity to meet the demand of the service required. The unit was opened in 2001, when they treated 831 patients, but last year they treated almost 5000 patients. Predictions indicate the cancer numbers will double by 2040. The estimated cost of the new build is €5 million. The new build aims to provide an environment is that is comfortable, respectful and allows patients and their families to be treated with dignity. My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2019 and he visits this hospital every 3 weeks for treatment. The new chemo unit will help him and others like him to make the most of their treatment. I really appreciate any monetary support you can offer for this cause. We've all seen what can be done with just a few dollars from each donor, and together we can offer a significant contribution to get the new Unit underway. Please share my page on your social media platforms or by any other means. That would mean the world the world to me. Kevin xx
