As requested from a few viewers if we could start a Go Fund Me page after our interview aired. Thank you to everyone who watched this. This interview was really hard to do, but it was important to raise the awareness about homelessness and hard working families. There are so many families in several states who are homeless and work full time, and still don't qualify to apply for housing. For our situation we earn too much for low income housing (that includes Daniel's SSI) and we don't have rental history for the last 2 years. Depending on each place you need rental history for the last 2-5 years here in WA. We have looked all over WA and we are still looking. And if it was a chance to lift the stigma most people have about homelessness, that we are not all drug addicts, alcoholics or mentally unstable. That there are thousands of families like ours working full time jobs and still can't get housing. Then it was all worth it. For us having a teenage boy with low functioning autism spectrum disorder, it has been very challenging. As shown our guinea pig ladies have helped the situation, they calm him when sensory overload happens. But we take it all day by day. Right now, Aaron is on FMLA because he has infected diabetic ulcers under his feet from walking to the busses for work. His electrical scooter broke down, so it added 1 1/2 hour commute time each way. I was really worried about his mental state before he went on FMLA. Since the interview I have become a member of the church, Grace is a member of the children's choir and Sunday school group. We have been taking it day by day.
Thank you all for all for taking your time watching our segment. - Silje
