My name is Monica and have been dealing with lyme disease for the last 9 months. I went from a happy, healthy individual to someone who has a hard time functioning. I am in pain on a daily basis and have horrible brain fog and derealization. Unfortunately after being tested for several different illnesses by neurologists and infectious disease doctors, all results have come back inconclusive. Doctors were no longer willing to help me and I have continued to decline in health. After finally going to a lyme literate doctor in San Francisco, I was diagnosed with lyme disease and babesia as a co-infection. While the news of finally being validated was amazing, the medical expenses are high as insurance is not accepted. Being a student in the Bay Area mixed with declining health has been one of the most stressful times of my life. I’m grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way and feel blessed to have amazing friends and family. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I battle this illness.
