Gone Way Too Soon - My Angel Earned Her Wings

As many of you know my daughter Alyssa (aka: Kim) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in July 2018. She ended up spending July-December 2018 in the hospital battling and fighting this nasty cancer. When this fight began she was only given a 20-30% chance of surviving a 5 year period. In the first year she put up the best fight she could and went through some aggressive chemotherapy treatments and 6 weeks of radiation treatments and only got a break during the weekends. She went into remission for a total of 4 months and in July 2019 we were told she has relapsed and the cancer was back. This time the cancer is in her pancreas. The news we received this time pretty much stopped my heart and shattered it into a million pieces. She was then told she had less than 20% chance of surviving a 2 year period. This cancer is so aggressive that she has lost 3 years in a 1 year period. She lost her childhood at the age of 14 when she was first diagnosed and doesn’t get to experience prom or anything else that most teenage girls get to experience. Here we are in February 2020 and her condition has deteriorated. They recently drained 4.4 liters of fluid off of her stomach a week ago and she is now having to go back on Monday the 17th to have her stomach drained again. Here for the past 2 days she has been unable to eat, weak, and having to use oxygen to help her breath better. According to her hospice nurse if we cannot get her to start eating better and getting the nutrients she needs we could be looking at her statistically only having 15-45 days left. We are praying hard that she has enough fight to break the record and survive. Due to the statistics and her condition, I have once again had to temporarily leave work so that I can be here with her to enjoy my time with her, care for her, and ensure she gets everything she needs to remain comfortable for the remainder of her time. She has been dealing with a lot of fluid buildup on her stomach and had 4.4 liters drained last week. We have an appointment on Monday morning to have it drained again as it has came back very quickly. As most of you know hospice has been involved with her care now. He did state that statistically she may only have weeks left and that he would be surprised if we are having the same conversation in 3 months with the way her condition is. I hate asking for help but my family is in need of help keeping monthly expenses paid to help allow us to have the time needed to focus our full attention on her in the last days/weeks/months of her life on earth!
