Seeking Help For Medical Reasons

Last year in April 2019 my left lung collapsed. Its called Spontaneous Pneumothorax. It is VERY painful and I felt like I was having a heart attack so I left work to go to the ER. They tried everything they could to reinflate my lung and nothing else worked so they had to put a garden hose sized tube in my chest and lung thats hooked up to a machine on the floor which suctions the lung back to reinflate it. The hospital did xrays on my chest and found blebs on both lungs. Blebs are air pockets on the top of my lungs which if and when they pop that air surrounds the pleural space that surrounds the lung which causes the collapse. It happens to about 1 in 5000 people. It's more common in skinny and tall people and more common in males than females. I'm not tall but I'm skinny so the surgeon believes that is why it happened to me. I was referred to do a follow up with my primary doctor so I could get a referral to a surgeon to remove the blebs. My primary doctor did a xray after the 1st collapse and told me there were no blebs and surgery wasnt required and sent me on my way. Fast forward to November. The day before Thanksgiving 2019 my left lung collapsed again. Once again I was told that I have blebs on both of my lungs which caused the collapse and I was referred by Aspirus to Marquette to get my first surgery done of 2 surgeries that I need. They can only do 1 surgery at a time since they have to collapse my lung again in order to perform the procedures. I had to get the tube placed in my chest and lung a 2nd time back in November during that 2nd lung collapse which could of been prevented if my doctor did her job right. I just had my first surgery on my left lung on February 4th which is the lung that has collapsed twice. They did 2 procedures. The first procedure was to remove the blebs. The 2nd procedure was called Pleuradesis which is where they scrape the lining of my lung to make it bleed and scar once it heals so that the lung is stronger and less likely to collapse. I am currently not able to work due to my surgery. I have to get another surgery on my right lung which is actually worse than my left lung but so far luckily my right lung hasn't collapsed on it's own yet. I have a hard time asking people for help because I'm a very independent person. I work hard for my money and take care of my kids and responsibilities. But right now I am unable to work so I feel helpless and hopeless and really need some extra help and support from family, friends, or anyone who has compassion for people going through hard times. The money I raise in this fundraiser will be to help with travel expenses back a nd forth from Laurium to Marquette for my follow up appointments and for my next surgery to help get me there and back, and so we dont fall behind on bills while I'm unable to work. If you can help my family in this time of need we would greatly appreciate it and be forever grateful. Whether you can donate or if you cant just share this to help me and my family please and thank you so much. God Bless you all!
