On Thursday Feb. 6, 2020 Cindy went to the ER with stomach pains and weakness. She was transferred by ambulance from Jackson Purchase Medical to Baptist Health. She was having a heart attack. After being admitted into CCU and more test done, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer that has spread into the liver as well as breast. She was given 3 to 6months with proper treatment. She was sent home from hospital on Saturday Feb 8, 2020. Dr. Ford suggested she be with her family and let them all know any arrangements or wishes she has and that she would be called with an appointment to start seeing an oncologist.   Feb 11. 2020 Cindy was experiencing lots of vomiting and pain and did not have the strength to walk. Family took her back to ER where they immediately rushed her to surgery , she was having a second massive heart attack in a week. The doctor informed the family that her heart now is pumping from a machine called a balloon pump or IABP. She also has internal bleeding, unaware of where its coming from. She is a diabetic and extremely anemic. The doctor is going to take her off the heart pump this evening and see if her heart will function without it. The doctor told the family that her chances of surviving the heart issue is slim, but if she does she will have a horrendous road ahead of her with cancer treatments and many doctor visits. Cindy is 63 years old retired from Marshall County Hospital and has always been the kind of person who would give someone the shirt off her back. She is a loving and caring person to others and always took care of everyone and now she needs our help and love and support. Her husband Max is retired and 70yrs old trying to hold on by a string as well to help his beloved wife of over 40 years. He too is suffering from end stage heart failure and was given 6months to live in Dec. 2018. They both are fighters and not ready to give up. We are asking for help for Cindy and Max through this time in their life to help cover her medicines, treatments, food for Max and gas while he is going back and forth to hospital that is about 40min drive one way for him.  Funds to get her as comfortable as she can be when and if she gets to go home, such as a hospital bed and wheelchair. Not to mention other bills such as their mortgage and car payments. They live on a fixed income. And donations for this sweet woman an her husband would be greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray and support the family through this tough time. As they also have a son whom is doing what he can to help them both during this tragic experience.
