Brent Dachel’s Journey

Donation protected
As most of you know, my dad was in a freak accident on Wednesday night in Jamestown, North Dakota while driving his semi. He was parked at a gas station and was outside of his truck when the semi next to him started moving and pinned my dad between his own semi and the one that was driving. The driver continued to drive unaware that my dad was back there until he felt that he was hitting my dads semi. So in the meantime, my dad was turned 180 degrees while being crushed. Once the truck stopped and he had some room to move, he limped into the gas station, told them to call 911 and then started seizing. He was driven by ambulance to Jamestown Hospital where they stabilized him and then drove him by ambulance to meet the helicopter. Then they flew him 50 minutes to the hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. His injuries are a dislocated shoulder and torn muscle around it, multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken right leg, and a lot of bruising and swelling. They are concerned about his left leg having compartment syndrome so they used needles to measure the pressure from the fluid in his leg. They are going to continue to watch that leg through the night and if it continues to swell, he will need emergency surgery for that. They are also concerned that his colon has stopped working due to the trauma so they are keeping a close look on that. There is insurance that will cover things but that won’t come in until my dad is in recovery or completely recovered. In the meantime, we are 5.5 hrs away from home with limited money to cover hotel room costs, gas, food, etc. my dad is self employed and my mom is here so there is no income coming in and there are still going to be bills to come. We appreciate anything and everything. Thank you to everyone who has reached out already. Please continue to pray and we will keep everyone updated.
