As many of you all know or have found out, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the beginning of this year. It was a shock for many of us. For a brief timeline, I went to the doctor at the end of December, was diagnosed early January, and scheduled for an orchiectomy on January 14th. Post surgery, the pathology came back showing that it is an aggressive form of cancer that had already moved to my retroperitoneal lymph nodes and possibly my lungs. After visits with my urologist, oncologist, GP, and family members, we have moved forward with a treatment plan to start Chemotherapy on February 10th at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. The plan is for 4 rounds (12 weeks) of treatment in which I will be unable to be working due to my lowered immune system, including the many side affects. I am extremely grateful for everyone that has reached out over the last couple weeks to my family and I, inquiring what you can do to help. As you can assume the cost of chemotherapy/prescriptions/ bills and the services I will need (dog walking/laundry/cleaning/etc.) over the next few months are costly, especially since I will be out of work during this time. Anything you can contribute is appreciated beyond measure. Thank you to everyone who is by my side during this time (both near and far). This type of cancer has a successful cure rate of 80% and I fully intend to make sure I’m on the winning side. It’ll be a rough couple of months, but it’s not a permanent condition. I know with everyone’s support emotionally/physically and financially this will eventually all be in the past. I couldn't beat this without you. Love, Richard
