Jennifer's journey

It was 8 a.m. and the voice on the other end of the phone said: "I am sorry it's cancer". Those words still make me cry. It was the pathologist confirming the results from my biopsy the day before. Little did I know then where those words would take me. It's been a wild ride filled with great things and not so great things. Since then I have gotten to swim in the middle of the Ocean, zip line down Freemont street to celebrate remission with a great friend and experience every day like the gift it is. It also has been filled with so much chemo and radiation that I often set off alarms when I go through X-Ray machines at airports. Quarterly scans to make sure the cancer is not spreading and more needles than one person should ever have to endure. Luckily some drugs will give me a pretty good quality of life, unfortunately, I will now need to take them forever and they come at a cost insurance companies don't like to pay. I am often asked what people can do to help and as you can imagine asking for help is not my biggest strength. So I am starting this campaign. Thank you all for the love, hope, encouragement, and strength you give me every day...I truly truly appreciate it. I love you all more than words can ever express.
