My name is Micheal Morelock, and I am Brandon “William” Morelock’s older brother.
I am reaching out and asking for help to our loving family, dearest friends, the Church, and strangers on behalf of my brother, who suffered a horrible motorcycle accident on 2/2 of this year!
Many of you know him as William, many of you know him as Brandon, to me he has always been my brother Bee!
Brandon was riding home from his volunteer fire shift on SuperBowl LIV Sunday morning. Ironically, this was also the start of his 38th Birthday?!?!
While attempting to take his exit off the highway, at a location that is notorious for accidents due to a poor design with merging and yielding lanes, he swerved to avoid a near collision and went down on his scoot! He and his motorcycle slid head long into a guard rail at an estimated speed of over 60+ MPH!!
The Lords Angels were with Bee on the 2nd and he was blessed with being allowed to keep his limbs and his life. Those of you who ride, know that it is rare that an argument with a guard rail, ever ends without at least loss of limbs and too often...loss of life.
Those of you who know my brother, know the caliber of man he is. He is not easily slowed, or stopped in his endeavors or his goals, but this has been a hard, nasty, and unexpected road block for him and his family.
Brandon suffered a long list of injuries to include:
- 4 broken ribs
- Collapsed lung
- Lacerated liver
- 4 fractures to his spine (2 Thoracic/2 Lumbar)
- Broken right leg
- Fractured hip
By a miracle of God, it appears that most of these injuries will heal on their own with time and care without surgery. Brandon has already undergone one surgery and will need another soon on his leg, which is completely shattered.
Brandon is self employed and has his own business as a personal fitness instructor in downtown Denver. He has also discovered a passion for public service, which has led him down the road of paramedic/fire. Brandon has been very excited about the process and has been excelling in the rigorous and very demanding testing process for several fire departments in the Denver/Metro area. This has brought an abrupt halt to that.
Unfortunately, medical insurance for someone who is self employed, is challenging to say the least. Snafus in this area have left many questions and black holes in being financially able to cover the mounting medical costs of this tragic and ever evolving event for Brandon and his family.
As stated, he has already gone through one surgery just to stabilize his leg, and will need yet another to repair it. He will be in a wheelchair once he is released from the hospital, and his noble dreams of being a fire fighter, will be paused until he can heal and recover. It will be hard for him to continue personal training until he is better. Essentially, his life has taken a scary and unexpected turn...
Bee and his wife Carie have three children, two of which are very young and require what every young child needs, attention and time. Carie is a stay at home mom, who has been focusing on her education and raising her family with the support and steadfast strength of her husband. Suddenly, their plans as a family, have been turned upside down!
With so many unknowns and apparent mounting medical costs, we are asking for help from our family and friends to assist financially with Brandon and Carie. Medical bills, earning income to pay everyday bills, groceries, rent, etc.
Brandon has always been their rock and their strength. His family needs help right now until he will once again...BEE STRONG!
