So I guess it’s time to put aside my pride and confess that I need your help to overcome this medical challenge. I always used to rely on myself. But it seems I won’t be able to do alone this time. As a consequence of tumor my left eye was removed when I was a baby. To be on the safe side Soviet doctors gave me radiation therapy for it not to return. But the radiation didn’t allow my eye socket to grow and now it has started to shrink and since the prosthetic eye has sharp edges it causes constant irritation, inflammation and a feeling that it’s going to fall down. I visited the doctor in Moran Eye Center, Utah and he said I need a surgery and another type of prosthesis. It is financially difficult for us as I barely got my green card and work authorization in the US and my husband is a student. (Postponing surgery may cause more complications and will keep me away from working). Every little penny will be very helpful for us. The needed amount is approximately stated (for medical and travel since the prosthesis is in one place and surgery is in another) and only after surgery we will find out how much the insurance is going to cover (we know that after paying the deductible for this year it has to cover 75% or more of the surgery and some part of prosthesis (40-60%)). They have paying plans but if the cost is above 2000$ (which will be) the plan will not work. My family in Armenia are doing their best also to help but the money value is very different, you may have to sell your house to get 12k This is definitely not a type of experience I wanted to have but it has taught me a lot. I know it’s in Heavenly Father’s plan to make me to become someone He wants me to and accept it not with a complaint but with joy and desire to help others in similar positions. I am grateful to have you all in my life and for the support that you have already given me. I may not be able to return all the goodnesses back to you but I will definitely do my best to help someone else on my way.
