Mo’s Fight Aganist Colon Cancer

My name is Maurice Snype. I am a married father of two lovely girls and one baby boy. I was born and raised in Florida but I work and live in Africa where I met my lovely wife. My wife and I travelled to Florida in December to spend Christmas with the family and decided to in for a checkup. However, our world was turned upside down on January 7th 2020 when I went for a routine colonoscopy and discovered I have stage 3 colon cancer. Luckily the doctor assured me that it hasn’t spread to any other organ and so it is treatable. The treatment consists of four months of aggressive chemotherapy to kill and shrink the cancer cells then followed by another four months of a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy and then two surgeries to remove the cancer. The doctor said I might need a colostomy bag but we are unsure right now if it will be permanent. We estimate that this treatment will last for over a year. I have started this gofund me page to request for financial support from well wishers because this cancer has gotten my family into a serious financial bind and we do not have enough savings. We need financial support to pay for the chemotherapy, pet scans and MRIs and other unforeseen costs that may crop up in the course of the treatment. I am unable to work during this time mainly because my job is in Africa and right now we are unsure if they will keep my job for me for an entire year as I undergo treatment. It is our hope that I will beat this cancer and return to work as soon as possible to avoid more financial burden.
