Not gonna lie....I've rewritten this three times. I want to explain the whys and wherefores. I want to explain about chemo, and cat death, and car tires and time off work for mental breakdowns and illness.... I want to talk about thinking you have it down and things are finally going to be ok.....and then getting a call at the vets telling you that when you get home from letting go of the one creature that gave you solace you need to come up with nearly 2k or find a new place to live. A process that would destroy your troupe and crush your life.... I'd LOVE to tell you about losing shifts the day after Christmas because the corporation you work for doesn't care if you eat or have a roof..... I want to tell you all about all of this...but I'm tired folks. I'm tired of begging at my friend's doorsteps when everyone is suffering. I want to make art. I want to perform. I want to make people smile and laugh. That's all. We work so hard....but this year everything bad happened all at once. TL;DR Working hard doesn't always fix things. A roof over ones head shouldn't be so difficult. So Here we are. About to lose our home. One cat gone, one still needing chemo for a little longer. Squeezing all the hours we can out of a corporation that is not really known for its associate treatment.... And working our butts off just to make it till season. Yes.... working our butts off. We both work a day job that slashes hours after the holidays, I offer art commissions and do illustration work AND we have Karnevil. Our DIY performance troupe. Long story short..... Support the arts! Please, winter isn't coming....it's here. And we need this roof.
