The Saxman Family - Needs Our Help
Donation protected
Tim and Tyanne Saxman have two sons, both with disabilities. Timmy is 21 years old, with Persuasive Development Disorder (PDD NOS) with autistic tendencies, as well as a mental retardation diagnosis (MR) class 1. Tommy is 18 years old and has higher functioning autism.
Both children need 24/7 supervision, to which Tim and Tyanne have devoted their lives, as loving (quite remarkable) parents do.
They are our cousins who live in Butler, Pennsylvania. Tim is a manager at Home Depot and Tyanne works in a day care. Above that, they also give of their time and love by being active in their church and community, while also serving on mission trips. Anyone who has ever met them would say that they are the kindest and most patient parents who are utterly devoted to their two boys. They face challenges daily. With no fancy vacations, luxuries or treats, their life rewards are family, friends, and community.
On January 10th, Tim and his son Timmy were involved in a serious car accident. Tim sustained minor injuries but Timmy was airlifted to a hospital and immediate surgery was required to repair his liver and bladder. Post-surgery in ICU, he dealt with a partially collapsed lung, abnormal blood work, feeding tubes and antibiotics to deal with sepsis and infection prevention.
For the moment, Timmy will remain in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time. Once home, he’ll need round the clock care. Recovery is going to be hard and long, and just to top it all, poor Timmy will require a colostomy bag for six months to a year. The most likely choice will be for Tyanne to take leave from her job to stay home and provide care for whatever the duration.
Here’s where we need your help. Funds raised here will go directly to the family’s expenses for daily life. They’ll go towards covering the loss of Tyanne’s unpaid leave, to care for Timmy and the whole family. Tyanne’s loss of income has a significant impact to this family.
Please share Timmy’s story, and help us take the financial burden from Tim and Tyanne as they deal with the unknown future.
