Joey’s Journey
Donation protected
To everyone who has asked if they can help in any way with Joey Lynn Carroll.
We have decided to start a GoFundMe to go towards Joey’s medical expenses and family expenses.
Here is the latest update on Joey for those of whom who know her and those who don’t.
Joey was diagnosed at age 17 with Type 1 Diabetes which has put her into a diabetic coma. Joey is a junior at Texas Tech University majoring in Nutritional Sciences. Joey is from Perrin, Texas a small town in North Texas. Joey has one the most bubbly personalities and a huge heart to match.
Joey went on a ski trip with her friends in Vail, Colorado. On January 9th she was feeling ill (which turned out to be the flu) took NyQuil and laid down to rest. She was then found unresponsive by one of her friends and emergency responders were called. The time of how long she was down is unknown. At one point her heart stopped and CPR was performed for 3-4 mins. She was then taken to Aspen Valley Hospital in Aspen, CO. Once she was stable enough she was then transferred
2 1/2 hours away to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO.
Joey is currently in ICU sedated in a diabetic coma, intubated, and fighting other infections amongst her diabetes. Little by little she has made tiny progress. This is going to be a long road for Joey and our family. Joey and her mother Brenda both live in Texas, so they are both far way from home. It is undetermined how long both will be away from there home town, as Joey slowly progresses to getting better.
I believe our miracle-working God, can heal her body and mind. He is with her and holding her while we hold her hand and continue to pray for her. Please pray that when she does wake up and come out of her sedation, that her recovery will be smooth and short.
We are asking everyone to take a minute to donate to help her road to recovery, it would be greatly appreciated by family and friends. If you can’t donate please pray continually for her healing. We are holding firmly to His word and believing He will work a miracle in Joey’s life as well as our own.
