Memorial/Services For Billy Gene Blankenship III

What started out as a normal pregnancy and happy time for our family turned into a tragedy and nightmare for our little family of 4 in a matter of minutes. At 33 weeks she was admitted to Cabell Huntington for possible preeclampsia or a bad gallbladder, they kept her for 3 days and found she had low platelets. They prescribed her prednisone, and directed her to take 80 mg a day for 21 days and taper Down 10mg every 4 days after that until the her due date. At that time he was measuring 5 pounds 4 ounces on the ultrasound. We had a healthy CHUNKY boy. She had no other issues after that aside from side affects from the prednisone. On December 31st she was 36 weeks 4 days she had her last ultrasound, he weighed 8 pounds according to the ultrasound. They scheduled Csection for the 20th of January because he was so big. But Everything was fine aside from a little protein in her urine. Next appointment was Thursday January 9th, they moved the csection to the 14th of January because her blood pressure was elevated to 140/79 ( typically it is 120/70) and checked her cervix because she still wanted to try for a Vbac if her body allowed. (She has csections with both our older children). She went home and immediately started having what she thought was Braxton Hicks. She had them all the rest of the day and night and and woke up with them. She had some pain under her right rib too and some back pain between her shoulders blades, like gallbladder pain. And had a small headache as well as her blood pressure read 129/ 95 so she called her OB and they told her she should come in.. When she got there they hooked her up to the NST. That’s when she knew something was wrong, they couldn’t find his heart beat but didn’t want to scare her. So they brought in someone else to try and find it, and when that doctor came in she felt her stomach and noticed it was distended and hard and tender to the touch ( which it was nothing new to her in the visit, her stomach was always hard and tender). They took her to the next room and did an ultrasound and confirmed that our baby had no heart beat... from there they told us to rush her to Women’s and children’s because she was at risk of blowing out her uterus because of the amount of fluid and her bp was 145/95. We had our beautiful boy at 3:18 PM. He was 9 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long. Perfect boy.. they found his cord had wrapped around his neck within the 8-12 hours possibly sooner than he was delivered.. We are asking for help to cover cost of the service/memorial and possibly a object of of remembrance for the family such as a breast milk ring, or piece made of his cremains if chosen to go that route. We appreciate every single person who has reached out to us, and every single prayer. We are hurting at this time and are at a loss of words, but know we are grateful for each and every one. Our two older children are too young to realize their baby brother cannot come home as planned, but we plan on doing something special for them to remember their sweet baby brother by. Hold your babies a little closer today as we so badly wish we could hold ours❤️ Thank you again, for all of your support and prayers.
