The Blessings for Hans

I starting this page at the suggestions of some friends and family. It's very humbling to admit that I need help. Especially someone like me that seeks the opportunity to help others all the time even when I don't have much to give other than my time. I went to a dentist 4 years ago for a simple toothache. I had a great job that i loved that paid well with great insurance. The dentist convinced me that I needed a root canal in a tooth that wasn't bothering me at all. Within1 week I started having problems. I went back and the dentist told me I needed another root canal and my insurance would cover it. Well come to find out she had given me an infection called ostiomylitus. This bacteria doesn't exist inside the body unless it's put there. It's said that 95% of the time it's from a dirty drill during a root canal. It turns the bone into soft tissue causing the gums to expell bone and blood. If unchecked it travels up the jawbone to the top of the spine and the back of the skull desolving the bone. The standard course of action at this point is to just make the patient comfortable before they die. ( 75% - 80% of people that get this die.) I was blessed to get some of the best Drs in the country here in Miami. 4 years and 8 surgeries later I'm having to get another surgery. I had so much time off of work I had to resign. I moved to St.Augustine to be near family and start again with a new job and everything. I developed a large mass in my jaw and came back down to Miami at which point the admitted me into the hospital on December17th. They removed the mass and the blessing is that it wasn't cancer but they also found that my jawbone that they had just rebuilt in February was affected by the infection again and it was broken in 3 places and had to be removed.. I'm still in the hospital on strong IV antibiotics waiting for my next surgery to happen in the next few days. Due to the time spent in the hospital I'm can't work and my Medicaid only covers so much. I have rent and other bills that are now past due. When I get out It's going to about 3 weeks before I can go back to work. It's so frustrating when I just want to go back to work and God and Universe have other plans. I can say that I understand what it's like for a lot of people that live with pain nonstop. It's like having someone hit you in the face with a brick constantly. All I can do is keep my faith in God and my Angels and knowing it's for my highest and best. I must " keep moving forward"!
