Home Nursing \ Medical Expenses Fund for Marlene

As many of you may know, our beloved mother, Marlene was diagnosed with stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. Our Mom is the most undeserving of such a horrid, undignified, complicated beast. Through it all she has been a trooper battling it with grace. After a long journey of hills and valleys she is left with two fistulas (wounds) from her intestines out her abdomen. These leak constantly, and because of that it isn't easily managed. She has wound up most recently in a nursing home, where she isn't getting any better. We have decided it is no place for her, and we are taking her home to Sherri's. Sherri is taking a week or two off but will have to return to work. Initially Holy Redeemer will stop out, but they are quick home checks that go from a few days a week, to once a week, to none very quickly. At that time mom will need a nurse for the times her and I can not be there. Sherri will need all the help she can get. As I have a baby girl arriving in less than 2 months and won't be able to help as much. Problem is, a skilled home nurse will have to be out of pocket. Insurance dose not cover this type of nursing. We are asking for financial support because we can not afford it alone, but cannot let our mother stay in that condition. At the nursing home they just don't have the staff to match the constant care she needs. At home with the assistance of skilled nurses it would provide so much for our mom . At this time, her wounds need regular care and cleaning if they have any chance to heal. Most importantly, peace of mind for our mom, and for us that she is as healthy and comfortable as possible.
