Help Rookie Get Better

Hello and thank you. On January 2nd 2020, our dog Rookie, a boxer mixed, pictured above was attacked by two Pit bulls/mastiffs with irresponsible owners. The two dogs belong to our next door neighbors who have failed to socialize or properly contain their dogs. My wife, newborn and mother in-law happened to be home and fortunately after a long fight where my wife suffered a bite, they were able to separate the two Pit bull/mastiffs off of Rookie. We had to rush him to the emergency room to address the many injuries he sustained. He’s spent the night in surgery at the Veterinary Emergency Room trying to repair the severe bites around his neck, legs ears and mouth. Due to the intensity of the attack to his face Rookie lost a large amount of teeth. The photos of the initial attack are too graphic and heartbreaking to post but we will share in the updates, please be careful viewing the photos. Rookie is the friendliest dog you will ever meet. My wife and I consider him our first child. We adopted Rookie back in June 2017 from the Animal Refuge in Westbrook Maine where he was was rescued and brought up north from Georgia. Ever since we adopted Rookie he’s added so much joy in our life and he’s traveled places around the country with us as well while training to be a service dog. Rookie will need continuous health monitoring, treatments, and some emotional support as well. All of which will cost thousands of dollars. Anything you can give will be much appreciated.
