Help restore Kristy's faith in humanity

UPDATE: Kristy's car has been found and the guy driving it was arrested. The car was found in Phoenix. Unfortunately there are a lot of things wrong with her car, her belongs are all still missing, the guy was wearing Derek's dog tags, and the only other thing left in the car was Derek's urn which was dented and empty. Kristy used the previously raised $300 to get to Phoenix and back to San Diego. She is now stuck in a catch 22. She can't get a job without documents, can't get documents without money, has to register the car in San Diego now that the insurance company knows it is there, has a car payment coming due, but has no job to pay it (see above), it is just horrible. Replacing the documents is not hard, just very time consuming! If you can find it in your heart to help her... As a 20 year old newly wed, heading to Army basic training, you think things are looking good in your life. A couple weeks into basic you find out you have 2 stress fractures that are going to make you unable to complete your training and you are going to be sent home. As a newly wed you are okay with that, because you are going home to your new husband, Right? Then you get the call you NEVER think/thought you'd get! Your dad calls your cell phone (that you just got back) to tell you, that your 21 year old husband committed suicide, 2 days before you are due home. Your life will never be the same! Kristy and Derek... July 1, 2019 This happened to my 20 year old daughter, Kristy in late October 2019. Kristy came home and instead of going house hunting, planning a future with her husband, she had to plan a funeral. Kristy was having a hard time being in the area where she had met and lost her husband. Looking on, it was completely understandable! It REALLY hurts a parents heart to not be able to fix this!! Kristy was looking for a New and Fresh start for 2020. Who blames her with the way her 2019 ended? So at the end of December she headed off to San Diego with our blessing, her clothes, a few belongings, and A LOT of HOPE! She had a friend ready for her to come stay until she had a job & her own place, and people there to help her find a job. December 31st she went out with some friends, had an AMAZING time (the first one in awhile), went back to her hotel the next morning (5:00am) and her car was stolen out of the hotel parking lot. Could/can things get any worse for a 20 year old? 2014 Camaro LT, white body, with black details and black rims. Black New Mexico Chile license plate #ALXS97. It was stolen from the Motel 6 in San Bernardino/Redlands area 5am on January 1st The story only gets a little worse. The car is just a thing. We know this! We can let the car go! Kristy can't afford a $400+ car payment and not have the car, but what really hurts was in the trunk of the car. Kristy hadn't had a chance to get everything out of the car yet. In the trunk was her important documents. Birth certificate, social security card, marriage license, passport, and husband's death certificate. Then there was the sentimental items. Wedding rings, husband's dog tags, husband's ukulele, iPad with his pictures/wedding pictures/videos, and his urn with his ashes. Her Xbox was also in there.  How do you replace those things? So we need a little help rebuilding Kristy's faith in humanity! Kristy REALLY needs help getting back on her feet. She is going to have a hard time getting a job (until we get her documents replaced) and still needs funds to survive off of. She now has no transportation to get around (now that her car was stolen), has to continue making payments on the stolen car, and will need a way to get to a job when she gets one. She can't live off of someone else for a long  period of time.  We know we are asking for a lot of money, but that isn't even what she owes on her car. The cost of living in California is high and she will succeed there once she gets settled! Even if you can't help financially, PLEASE just share this post for us!!!!! We appreciate everyone!  Kristy Sampaga 2019
