Brian Stuck In Thailand W/ Guillain-Barre Syndrome

One of my dearest friends Brian Estrada’s vacation in Asia turned into a nightmare. He caught an infection and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. It’s a rare condition where the immune system attacks the nerves and eventually leaves you paralyzed. It is an incurable disease but it can be treated and requires months long recovery with therapy. Brian is currently in hospitalized in Phuket, Thailand and has been there since Christmas Day. Unfortunately, he did not have travel health insurance and has been spending out of pocket to stay alive and receive treatment. The bill is currently upwards of $50,000 USD. He has been paying through credit cards and his life’s savings from his hard work as a contractor. His savings are running out and he needs your help to be able to come back home and receive care in New York. Currently he is still in critical condition. The doctors say he is in no state to make the long trip home and needs to stay for at least another two weeks. Those of you who have met Brian know he’s one of the most loving, considerate, helpful and giving human beings there is. I’ve known Brian for roughly 15 years. I’m happy to call him a one of my closest friends and am thankful to have him in my life. He’s always offered to lend a hand, give me work when I was unemployed, give advice when I was lost, and be a friend when I needed one. He’s never asked for anything in return. People like him are one in a million and I’ll do anything in my power to help him. Please donate whatever you can, it’s a big bill and any amount will help. As hard working as I know Brian is, he will want to go back to work as soon as possible to pay for his outstanding medical bills.
