A Family (business) In Need Of A Hand Up

Donation protected
Greetings, First off, I would like to make it very clear that I'm not looking for a hand-out, but rather a hand up. If you would prefer to purchase rather than donate, please feel free to check out our etsy store, or contact us to request a custom piece. https://www.etsy.com/shop/FoxCreekRustics My name is Graham, and I have organized this campaign because I have an opportunity to really make a positive difference in the life of someone very dear to me, my father. I can't do it alone though so I need your help. Do you know that feeling when you wake up and just can't wait to start your day? My dad certainly does whenever his day includes time in the wood shop. You see, I have set up a small but quite functional woodcraft shop at home, and I am hell bent on helping to provide a good retirement for my father, a 71 year old Canadian Forces veteran who currently has to work full time as a security guard to make ends meet. Unfortunately, I'm currently working a 40+ hour per week day job (well, swing shift actually) that causes me a great deal of stress and anxiety, plus it doesn't pay very well so I don't often have extra time and/or money just to purchase materials. What we're looking for, is an opportunity to take a real shot at turning our woodworking into a full time, father-son business. My goal is to raise enough to cover 3 months living expenses, as well as a stockpile of materials to "build" up an inventory, so to speak. Once we've established a good base selection of merchandise (about three weeks of steady shop time), our focus will be on getting our brand out there starting with farmer's markets, craft fairs, and alike. I also have a plan for an online store, which will be up and running once we have items to sell. (in progress) We will also be taking orders for larger custom items, once the word gets out. I don't have the space for storage of larger items, so we can only make them to order. With our own space, tools and machinery, our overhead is pretty low, though with what I currently make at my day job I'm just barely keeping the bills paid. I literally have everything I need to start this and give my father the gift of retirement, except for the time and materials to get started. Ultimately I just want to give my father a chance to finally retire, and enjoy life while doing something he loves and earning an income. We are seriously motivated to make this happen, all I need is to find the right people who want to help us achieve our goal of becoming a full time woodcraft business. Thanks for reading, and have a good day.
