Medical and family expenses for Jason Koons
Donation protected
This family is going through something that no one ever should. Monica is my cousin but we grew up together like sisters. She and Jason have three children together and they are a very hard-working family. Any help is greatly appreciated. If you cannot help financially, or even if you can, prayers are welcome.
Below is a history of Jason‘s illness. He has completely beaten the odds so far and we pray that he will continue to do so.
Jason was Initially diagnosed July 2008 with a grade 2 Astrocytoma.
Tumor team at UT Southwestern monitored the tumor and in 2013, the tumor became aggressive and caused paralysis on his left side.
Went thru Surgery to remove most of the tumor in October 2013 and completed Radiation/Chemo shortly thereafter. Went thru alternative therapy to rid his body of toxins the following year.
Aside from the numbness and occasional focal seizure in his left arm and hand , things have been Relatively quite until November 11 of this year when he had a focal seizure in his throat.
MRI later that week confirmed recurrence/progression of the tumor which is now growing at an alarming rate. Chemo started late November, was admitted to the hospital last week and reluctantly released Saturday under the care of his oncologist. Received a chemo infusion on Monday and we meet with Radiology tomorrow for Cyberknife simulation.
He is no longer able to work due to his paralysis and frequent doctor visits. In the process of applying for disability, again, but the expected approval time is 3-4 months.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and thank you in advance for all your help and prayers
