In December 2019, Dean was enjoying his well-earned holiday in the Mexican resort of Cancun when his life was ended tragically in circumstances indicating he may have been assaulted before he died.

Eleven months after losing their only son, Maria and Paul still haven’t received a death certificate or answers to the questions any parent would need to know.

Imagine, not knowing what happened to a loved one and having to grapple with the massive trauma and costly processes of trying to understand and find out why he isn’t with us today.

Dean’s family have engaged with a Mexican Lawyer who is collaborating with UK-based independent experts and the UK Authorities and a UK Lawyer in an attempt to try and find some of these answers... in the hope that there may one day be justice, truth and answers.

Nothing will ever bring Dean back, no room is going to be filled with his huge personality or contagious laugh. Everyone who lost him that day knows they will never get him back.

But if Dean’s legacy and finding out the truth can save any other family from suffering this heartache, it will be worth everything.

The process is long and expensive, and made even more so by the 5,500 miles between Dean’s home and the place where he died.
Costs have already started to rise, but there is no financial support for families like Maria and Paul, so sadly they are left alone to find and finance their way through a legal system in another country without any help from our own government.
