Those family, friends and acquaintances who don’t know just a couple of weeks ago on the evening of December 6th my immediate family were taken back by the unexpected event of my step father Raul suffering from a heart attack and stroke. By the grace of God he made it through and is still having to overcome obstacles before he can continue on his road to recovery, the event left the right side of his body paralyzed and speech impaired but doctors believe with a lot of time and effort and him being so young that it’s possible for him to make a very close to 100% recovery. With that being said those of you who know anything about my mother Gina and father Raul’s relationship know that my mother was diagnosed with MS years back and over the years became almost completely disabled, having to completely depend on Raul as her provider and support for daily living. Given the situation and long road to recovery me and my wife Mercedes have had to take over care for my mother and will also takeover care for Raul to help along his recovery process. As we try and situate and reach out to different foundations and avenues with this needless to say unexpected situation any form of support or help is truly a blessing and greatly appreciated. We are truly fortunate that Raul is a fighter and have no doubt that we will claim victory through God’s grace over this.
